Smt. Seetha Guruprasad, an illustrious exponent of Bharatanatyam, radiates a profound artistic legacy rooted in the venerable clan of Sadguru Sarvabhouma Sri Raghavendra Yathiraya. Hailing from the sacred pilgrimage city of Nanjanagudu, she enriches Bengaluru’s cultural tapestry with her multifaceted artistic endeavors.
Drawing profound inspiration from her revered Gurus, Vid. Usha Venugopal and internationally acclaimed Vid. B Bhanumathi, she founded Bharatanjali Natya Shaale in Bengaluru in 1993. For over 3 decades, she has meticulously nurtured numerous talented disciples who have excelled in their master’s degree, proficiency examinations and also have successfully completed Rangapravesham.
Vid. Seetha’s artistic journey spans extensive travels and numerous triumphant performances by her students at distinguished festivals such as Vishwa Kannada Sammelana, Mysore Dasara, Hampi Utsava, Girija Kalyana Mahotsava of Nanjanagudu, Mantralaya Mahotsava, MountAbu Cultural Festival – Rajasthan, Natyanjali – Tamil Nadu, Guruvayur Temple – Kerala, Ayamotsava, Sandyaravali Festival – Andra Pradesh, Ananya Nrityoullasa, Vasundarotsava, Nritya Jhanavi and many more. Her artistic footprint extends the length and breadth of India!

Through annual festivals organized by Bharatanjali Natya Shaale and various artistic programs, she provides crucial opportunities for young dancers to showcase their skills and gain exposure.
She is a strong believer in creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to arise. Her visionary approach extends beyond nurturing budding artists to also creating opportunities to her contemporaries, providing platforms like Nritya Siri, Nritya Jagarane, Natya Panchami, Jana Sagara, Javanike and many more for them to showcase their unique choreographies.
Beyond her artistic achievements, Smt. Seetha Guruprasad has also contributed significantly to the education sector, imparting her expertise in classical, semi-classical and folk dances of India to students in various educational institutions.
Her commitment to fostering this artform is paralleled by her establishment of “Bharatanjali Costumes,” a distinguished center renowned for its vibrant and innovative designs from past 2 decades, earning her accolades as one of the foremost costume designers in the field.
